MakerSpaces are the big thing in education. But how do we ensure that students maximize the use of this resource? How do we make sure that students persevere through the design solution process? How do we train students to use a makerspace to create an original design solution? TheWallingford 3-D Learning Program® for MakerSpace is a Pre-K-12 structured, yet flexible, curriculum model that helps students maximize their learning, persevere through failure within the design process, and learn to create design solutions to their problems. Students from kindergarten through high school apply design thinking through the Wallingford 3D Learning in a MakerSpace to provide an authentic application of the Next Generation Science Engineering and Technology Standards. Wallingford 3D Learning is also aligned to ISTE and CCSS standards. The goal of theWallingford 3-D Learning Program® for MakerSpace is that students are encouraged to DREAM big, DESIGN creatively, and DO what innovators, creators, and engineers embark on every day.
